Aquatherm Technical Announcement: Aquatherm Ball Valves
Date Issued: 3 November 2023
Polypropylene Socket Fusion Ball Valves
Aquatherm LP has begun stocking a standard PP ball valve with socket fusion connections, and without the true union adapters. The valves are manufactured by Red-White Valve Corp. and carry the necessary listings/certifications for the North American market. The valve and cartridge bodies are polypropylene, seats are PTFE, O-rings are NBR and the ball is Cr-plated DZR lead-free brass. Aquatherm part numbers for these valves are given in Table 1.

Polypropylene True-Union Ball Valves
The true-union ball valves will continue to be available, but with more restrictive use conditions. The maximum operating pressure and temperature limits are given in Table 2. Additionally, these valves are no longer recommended for use in domestic hot water (DHW/DHWR) systems in North America.

Brass Ball Valves
The leaded brass industrial ball valves are being discontinued in North America. Lead-free brass valves with PP fusion sockets are available from Nibco (Webstone Pro-Connect series).
