AQUATHERM BRASS VALVES
The brass-bodied valves offered in the Aquatherm 2014 catalog are not intended for use in potable water systems as they do not meet the new zero-lead requirements which went into effect January 1, 2014. These valves include the brass/PP-R ball valve, the screw–down stop globe valves, the draining branch valve, the chrome plated concealed valves, the inclined valves and the inclined check valves. These valves may still be used in mechanical/hydronic systems and other applications where the new zero-lead requirements are not applicable.
Aquatherm recommends the use of the PP-R body valves which are fully compliant with the new “lead-free” definition. If a zero-lead brass bodied valve is required for use in a potable water application, other arrangements will need to be made such as using a 3rd-party threaded valve and threaded adapter fittings.
