Tight Clearance Wrenches and Aquatherm Fittings

The Aquatherm NPT transition pieces, both male and female, are sometimes difficult to get a standard wrench on to the brass shoulders of the fitting. It is not advisable to use a channel lock wrench or similar tools to hold the PP part of the fitting while tightening the brass transition, because the PP can be damaged, and the brass/PP connection can be interrupted.

The easiest solution is to use tight clearance wrenches. These wrenches are available from various vendors. See photos below for example applications.
